Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of storage battery, by charging the battery with constant current having pulsating waveform thereby reducing generation of gas. CONSTITUTION:Pulsating constant current is employed for charging a battery. It has positive pulsating waveform, and power supply and interruption are repeated periodically with predetermined time interval. Power supply time (t1) of 0.1-0.5sec. and power interruption time (t2) of 0.1-1sec. are employed normally, and they can be increased/decreased properly according to the type, capacity or history of the battery. When constant current having such pulsating waveform is employed for charging a battery, generations of oxygen gas or hydrogen gas is reduced, resulting in high charging efficiency.
