Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent document from being fed in duplicate by keeping the distance between a document transfer roller and a separation roller to be in contact with the transfer roller constant when the document is placed in a tray and varying the distance when the document is transferred. CONSTITUTION:Multiple sheets of document are placed on a tray 48. A transfer roller 51 and a separation roller 55 to be in contact with the transfer 51 and rotating in the direction opposite to that of the transfer roller 51 are provided. The transfer roller 51, being pressed downward with a spring 54 attached to the front end of an arm 53 rotating about a pivot shaft 52, keeps the distance between the transfer roller 51 and the separation roller 55 constant. Swinging up and down a takeout roller 57 at the front end of an arm 56 attached to a shaft 51a of the transfer roller 51, the document G is transferred one by one to a next process via guide rollers 59, 60. The upward movement of the arm 56 is restricted with a stopper 58. This prevents the document G from being transferred in duplicate at a time. Strong friction between the document G and the both rollers 51, 55 is reduced so that the life of the rollers 51, 55 is extended.
