Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable direct printing by a dot printer, by coating a surface of a projection film with an inorganic powder favorable in permeability to an ink and an ink-retaining property, in such a thickness as not to damage transparency, by use of a binder favorable in compatibility with an oil contained in the ink, adhesiveness to the film and transparency. CONSTITUTION:A surface of a projection film is coated with an inorganic powder by use of a binder. The inorganic powder functions to enlarge the specific surface area of a coating film, facilitate permeation of an ink into the coating film and enhance the property for retaining the ink. The powder may be a highly light-reflective or transparent inorganic fine powder of, for example, mica or titanium oxide. The binder is suitably rosin, a derivative resin thereof, a C5 resin or the like. These resins function to not only adhere the powder to the film but accelerate fixation of a printing ink through favorable wettability by the ink and gradual compatibility with the ink. Therefore, the film can be printed directly by a dot printer while using an ordinary ink ribbon.
