Abstract

CONSTITUTION:At the time of transmission, a transmission caliber is selected by a caliber selection circuit 2 under a signal processing control circuit 10 and a duplexer 3 is set to a transmission mode. By this method, beam having an almost constant width from a shallow part to a deep part is formed. The vibrator exciting signal controlled in a phase by a transmission drive circuit 4 is supplied to a probe 1 through the duplexer 3 and the caliber selection circuit 2. At the time of reception, a receiving caliber is successively selected by the caliber selection circuit 2 under the signal processing control circuit 10 and the duplexer 3 is set to a receiving mode. A receiving signal is sent to a signal processing circuit 6 and a frequency analyzing circuit 7, and a B- mode image and a frequency analytical result are displayed on an image display apparatus 9.
