Abstract

PURPOSE:To constitute a magnetic resonance image having no artifact within a short time, by detecting predetermined timing on the basis of the level of a monitoring magnetic resonance signal to start an imaging period. CONSTITUTION:A high frequency transmitter 4 sends high frequency wave having resonance frequency to a high frequency coil 5 according to the modulation signal from a sequence control apparatus 2 and an inclined magnetic field power source 8 allows a rectangular-wave current to flow to an inclined magnetic field coil 9. The magnetic resonance signal obtained from the high frequency coil 5 is inputted to a computer system 3 through a high frequency receiver 7. A monitor period wherein a slice surface other than a desired slice surface is excited to obtain a monitoring magnetic resonance signal is provided and predetermined timing is detected on the basis of the level of the monitoring magnetic resonance signal to start an imaging period.
