Abstract
PURPOSE:To carry out emergency blocking easily and reliably upon excessive temperature rise by coupling a valve body and a fixing point arranged at a part of the valve body through a shape-memory alloy element. CONSTITUTION:Upper end of a shape-memory alloy element 7 is coupled to a fixing point 8 arranged on a projecting shaft at the lower end of a valve body 6 for opening/closing a valve port 4. Lower end of the element 7 is fixed to a fixing point 9 arranged in the center of the bottom of the valve body 1. A rod 10 is arranged on the upper end of the valve body 6 and coupled with a stopping means, i.e. a linear member 11. When ambient temperature rises due to fire and the temperature of the element 7 reaches to a dislocation temperature, the element 7 shrinks quickly. Consequently, the linear member 11 is cut and the valve body 6 contacts tightly with a valve seat 5 through tensile force of the element 7.
