Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the title compsn. generating no halogen gas on burning and having excellent water resistance and acid resistance, by compounding a polyolefin with a specific surface-treated metal hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:A surface-treated metal hydroxide (B) is obtd. by modifying the surface of a metal hydroxide [e.g., Al(OH)3] by adding an aq. soln. of silicic acid into an aq. slurry contg. the metal hydroxide, adding a fatty acid (or its salt) (e.g., sodium stearate) therein and washing and drying the mixt. Then, the title compsn. is obtd. by compounding 100pts.wt. polyolefin (e.g., ethylene-propylene rubber), 50-500pts.wt. component B and, if necessary, a cross-linking agent, an antioxidant, a lubricant, a dispersing agent a softening agent, etc.
