Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable even a heat mode recording material to be recorded at high speed when it is used by arranging a semiconductor laser for synthesis of laser beam with an elliptic cross section emitted from first and second semiconductors and scanning in the longitudinal direction of the cross section of one laser beam. CONSTITUTION:Laser beams 17, 25 which are transformed into parallel beam fluxes by collimator lens 14, 22 after being emitted from semiconductors 12, 20 are introduced into a polarized beam splitter 18 as a P polarized beam. A synthesized beam 24 of the laser beam fluxes 17, 23 is emitted. The near center of the cross section of the laser beam flux 17 and one end of the cross section of the laser beam flux 23 cross each other directly. Subsequently, these beam fluxes become a synthetic beam 24 with a near T-shaped cross section. The overlapped part 25 of the synthetic beam has a high luminous intensity. The longitudinal direction of the cross section of the beam flux 23 is scanned (arrow direction A) by a light polarizer 26, and therefore, the laser beam flux 23 gives energy to a recording material 30 and moves while preheating the latter. The recording material 30 is recorded immediately through reaction beyond a threshold value.
