Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a highly reliable wheel, by a method wherein the central protruding part of the base of a wheel is covered from the outside of three directions by two kinds of synthetic resins, having high fusion bonding properties mutually, by employing a two-color injection molding machine while a shoe member is connected integrally to the base of the wheel while melting the corners of recessed and projected sections or holes, which are provided on the base of the wheel, with the high- temperature material of the shoe. CONSTITUTION:A movable mold 1 and a first fixed mold 2a are clamped and polypropylene resin for molding the base of a wheel is injected by a first sprue runner 5 whereby the base 10 of a wheel is molded. A table board D is converted and the movable mold 1, holding one side of the base 10 of the wheel, is moved to the side of a second injection molding machine, to which a second fixed mold 2b is set. The movable mold 1 and the second fixed mold 2b are clamped and a Santoprene or the material of a shoe 20 is injected from the second sprue runner 7 through a tunnel gate 6, provided on the movable mold 1. In this case, the temperature of the Santoprene is high, therefore, the contacting surface of the central protruding part 12 of the base of the wheel is molten whereby the shoe 20 may be adhered integrally to the base 10 of the wheel.
