Abstract

PURPOSE:To make cutting work efficient, by a method wherein the deterioration of the cutting force of a diamond tip under cutting operation is detected automatically by a detecting means, which detects the change of the degree of inclination of the wire saw with respect to a material to be cut or the like, and the cutting speed of the diamond wire saw is reduced in accordance with the result of the automatic detection. CONSTITUTION:A degree of inclination detecting means A is provided at the position of inlet side or outlet side of a diamond wire saw 5, running from a driving pulley 4 toward a material 11 to be cut. The detecting means B of the change of distance between the centers of the pullies 4, 4' is provided on the bearing of a driven pulley 4', a change of tension detecting means C is provided at the upper position of the driven pulley 4' and a turbidity detecting means D is provided in a discharging groove 38. When the cutting capacity of the saw is deteriorated, respective detecting means A, B, C, D are operated and the descending of the pullies 4, 4' is stopped by an input due to one of respective means or the proper combination of these means, the cutting speed of the diamond wire saw and the pouring amount of cutting liquid are reduced whereby the tension of the diamond wire saw may be increased.
