Abstract
PURPOSE: To continuously shrink a shrinkable clothlike material at a uniform shrinking percentage with a good productivity by rotating plural feed rolls installed side by side in the feeding direction at a prescribed interval at a slower speed toward the downstream side and heat-treating the shrinkable clothlike material shrinking by heating. CONSTITUTION: A doubled and twisted yarn 6 prepared by twisting a filament yarn 63 such as an electroconductive fiber with a heat shrinkable fiber 62 is knitted with a flat knitting machine 10 to provide a knitted cloth 60 and afford a shrinkable clothlike material. A pair of tacky tapes 61 are then applied to the front surface and the back surface of both ends in the width direction thereof with an application device 30 and the knitted cloth 60 is subsequently coated with a solvent with coating rolls 40 to carry out a treatment for preventing the slippage of the knitted cloth 60. The resultant knitted cloth 60 is then fed to a heating furnace 20. Plural feed rolls 71-73 installed side by side in the feeding direction of the clothlike material 60 at a prescribed interval are rotated at respective different rotational speeds so as to be slower toward the feed rolls located on the downstream side to thereby continuously shrink the shrinkable clothlike material 60.
