Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the min. safety even when a CPU is recklessly driven, by providing a means for detecting the reckless driving of a microprocessor and a means responding to detection output to allow a light source for an endoscope to emit light in a preset definite brightness state. CONSTITUTION:When a CPU 2 is recklessly driven, the CPU 2 fetches an order from a memory other than a ROM 6. That is, the chip enable terminal CE of the ROM 6 is held to a high level and an order is fetched even during a period when a chip is not selected. Therefore, the output of an inverter 37 is held to a low level and the output of an OR 36 is held to a low level and a high level signal is generated from an NOR 38 to be held to a latch 40. As a result, the signal is given to the second transistor and the second transistor 44 is turned ON to hold a triac 32 to a continuously state and an AC current not subjected to phase control is supplied to a light source 30 which is, in turn, allowed to light at the max. brightness to secure the visual field in the connection part of an endoscope.
