Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the distortion of a data signal and to obtain the satisfactory output of a servo signal by setting the holding force of a data signal recording layer at specific times the residual flux density of a servo signal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic disk where the servo signal recording layer 2 in which the servo signal for positioning a head is recorded is formed on a base 1 and the data signal recording layer 3 in which the data signal is recorded on the servo signal recording layer 2 is formed, the holding force of the data signal recording layer 3 is set at 0.7-1.0 times the residual flux density of the servo signal recording layer 2.
