Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A variable gain amplifying means 11, comparing means 12a and 13a, an updating means 15 and a correcting means 16 are provided in this apparatus. Then, the output level of the means 11 when an object is absent is made to be a non-existence level 3 by the means 12a. The gain, when error becomes the minimum value, is outputted to the means 16. Meanwhile the output level of the means 11 is compared with the preset existence-level reference amount 8 in the means 13a. The ratio with respect to the reference amount is outputted to the means 15 as the amount of the error. Then the reciprocal of the ratio from the means 13a is obtained, and the correcting value is updated and sent to the means 16 with the means 15. The gain from the means 12a is multiplied in the means 16 and the gain is corrected. The result is set in the means 11, and the adjusted output 7 of the optical sensor is obtained.
