Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce detecting errors and to make it possible to ensure positive measurement of displacement, by using coils which are wound with high temperature superconductors as resonance circuits, and detecting the displacement of a displacing member facing the circuit from the change in resonance frequencies. CONSTITUTION:Primary and secondary coils 1a and 2c are wound with high temperature superconductors. The coil 2c is displaced in a facing pattern with the coil 1a. The coil 1a is excited with an AC power source 4 and the frequency of the current is changed. The resonance frequency, when the value of an AC ammeter 7 becomes the minimum value, is obtained. Then, the position of the coil 2c is changed, and the resonance frequency of a circuit is obtained by the same way. Q of this resonance circuit becomes large since the resistances of the coils 1a and 1c are close to zero. Therefore, the resonance frequency can be obtained accurately. Thus the displacement can be detected from the difference between both frequencies.
