PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin having radiation-curable group by reaction between a specific dihydroxyl compound etc., and diisocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION:A reaction is carried out between (A) a dihydroxyl compound of formula I (R1, R2 and R4 are each alkylene; R3 is hydrocarbon of diisocyanate origin; R5 is H or CH3) (e.g. a compound of formula II) or a mixture of said dihydroxyl compound with another polyol compound (e.g. ethylene glycol) and (B) a diisocyanate compound (e.g. 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate) to obtain the objective resin with the both ends of the main molecular chain being OH groups or isocyanate ones. The compound of the formula I is a new material and can be prepared, for example, by mixing a diisocyanate compound and hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate compound followed by addition of an inert organic solvent and a dialkanolamine and then by carrying out reaction.
