Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the transmission torque of an electromagnetic clutch in an early stage of use by a simple treatment so as to increase the transmission torque to a stable area with a small number of coupling by applying magnetic grains on transmission/friction faces. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic substance consisting of Fe with average grain diameter of about 0.5mum is manually applied on transmission/friction faces 14a, 32a. Accordingly, the transmission/friction faces 14a, 32a increase catching resistances due to the mutual biting of magnetic grains themselves infiltrating into the recesses of those surfaces. Improvement in a tight adhesion property due to the interposition of the magnetic substance makes molecular force very strong and also decreases the leak of magnetism produced due to the gaps at the interfaces to effectively reinforce magnetic flux, i.e. electromagnetic attracting force. Such operations can remarkably improve the transmission torque of an electromagnetic clutch in an early stage of a less familiarized use. And any falling out is prevented by magnetization to promote synergetic effect of the improving operation of familiarization and the transmission torque can be rapidly increased up to a stable area by a small number of couplings.
