Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain excellent durability by using a vinyl copolymer having an epoxy group and polyurethane having an acidic phosphoric acid group as a binder. CONSTITUTION:The vinyl copolymer having the epoxy group in the molecule and the polyurethane resin having the compd. expressed by formula I in the molecule are incorporated as the binder into a magnetic layer. In formula I, M denotes hydrogen, alkali metal or hydrocarbon group. The vinyl copolymer having the epoxy group to be used as the binder consists mainly of a vinyl compd. which is formed by copolymerization of the epoxy group introduced therein in order to form a crosslinking structure and a monomer having double bonds copolymerizable with the vinyl compd. The good crosslinking structure is thereby formed without being affected by moisture at the time of reaction and the excellent durability is obtd.
