Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the stability of welding strength by forming a lead body by applying mat plating or half-mat plating of metal excellent in soldability to a stainless steel plate. CONSTITUTION:One end of a lead plate 2 consisting of stainless steel plate is stuck onto a negative electrode terminal surface of a flat cell 1 such as a flat lithium cell and fixed thereto, and a laser converged in and around a cell terminal surface is applied to the specified welding spot by objective lens 3, whereby this welding spot is heated at high temperature in a moment and melted or the like, and the lead plate 2 is jointed to the cell terminal surface by means of laser spot welding. Likewise, a similar lead plate 4 is also jointed to a positive electrode terminal surface of the flat cell 1 by means of the laser spot welding, thus a cell-cum-lead is manufactured. Doing like this, stability in welding strength at the time of the laser spot welding is improved, and confirmation of the presence of plating of the lead body is clarified or facilitated, so that facilitation of the process is promoted as much as a portion for that. In this connection, the lead plates 2, 4 grow large in the welding strength by being subjected to mat plating or half-mat plating.
