Abstract

PURPOSE:To acoustically confirm input character information by converting the character information inputted from a keyboard into character codes and outputting voices in accordance with these character codes. CONSTITUTION:The character information inputted from a keyboard 11 is converted into character codes and stored in a buffer 12. A Roman character/ KANA (Japanese syllabary) converting part 13 reads the Roman characters equivalent to one KANA character out of the buffer 12 to convert them into character codes and outputs these codes to a CRT 14 and a character code/voice converting part 15. The CRT 14 performs the display of screen based on the character codes. While the part 15 converts the fetched character codes into voice signals and outputs them to a speaker 16. The speaker 16 outputs voices in response to said voice signals. Thus an operator can confirm acoustically the proper input of the character information without looking at the display screen.
