Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve a lowering of treating costs while reducing the size of equipment by feeding a material to be treated being cooled and a treating material to be heated into a fluidized bed to perform a heat exchange therebetween. CONSTITUTION: A fluidizing gas, for example, air is blown from a nozzle 3 on the bottom surface of a container 1 to fluidize very small particles so that a fluidized bed 4 is formed in the container 1. The fluidized bed 4 thus obtained is heated by a heater 5 up to a proper temperature and a material to be treated being cooled after a heat treatment, namely, a high temperature material 6 and a material to be treated prior to the heat treatment, namely, a low temperature material 7 are fed simultaneously or alternately thereinto. The heat held by the high temperature material 6 is quickly transmitted to the low temperature material 7 through the fluidized bed 4 so that the high temperature material is cooled while the low temperature material 7 rises in temperature to be preheated. Thus, heat exchange between the materials to be treated can highly speed up the treatment to improve the treating efficiency thereby achieving a lowering of treating cost and a reduction in size of equipment.
