Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition improved in processability and the resiliency and abrasion resistance of a vulcanizate, by using a specified branched butadiene copolymer and a specified nonbranched butadiene copolymer as the rubber components. CONSTITUTION:A polymer composition comprises 10-70wt.% branched butadiene copolymer of a vinylaromatic compound content of 5-35wt.% and 90-30pts. wt. nonbranched butadiene copolymer (i) obtained by adding a tin compound of formula I to the terminals of a copolymer obtained by polymerizing butadiene with the terminals of a living polymer so as to form blocks and/or nonbranched butadiene copolymer (ii) obtained by adding a tin carboxylate compound of formula II to the terminals of a living polymer. In the formulas, R<1> is an aryl or the like, X is a halogen atom or the like, a is 3 or 4, b is 0 or 1, a+b=4, R<2> is a 1-20C alkyl or the like, R<3> is a 2-20C carboxylate group, l is 1-3, m is 1-3, and l+m=3 or 4.
