Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce the effective reinforcing effect by filling foaming agent uniformly, densely and without void in the space part of a structural member with enclosed section by a method wherein partition plates are shifted in the structural member with enclosed section in the directions so as to enlarge the space in response to the foamed amount of the foaming agent. CONSTITUTION:Two sets of partition plate 4, each set of which consists of a fixed plate 4a fixed to the interior of a structural member 1a with enclosed section and a moving plate 4c connecting to the fixed plate 4a through a spring 4b, are arranged in the structural member 1a with enclosed section. The two moving plates 4c and 4c are arranged so as to pinch a space part 5 with center at its corner. A foaming agent pouring hole 5a is bored on the wall surface of the space part 5 so as to pour the certain amount of liquid foaming agent 6 in the space part 5. After elapse of a certain time, foaming is done so as to increase the volume of the foaming agent 6. With volumetric increase of the agent, the moving plates 4c are shifted against the forces of the springs in the directions indicated with the arrows A so as to enlarge the volume of the space part 5, resulting in expanding the foaming agent 6 without void in the space part 5 in order to uniformly fill the part 5. Further, by arranging the springs 4b with a certain spring constant, a fixed filling density can be obtained at all times, even when the scattering in amounts of poured foaming agent is present.
