Abstract

PURPOSE:To take an accurate measurement in a place where there is much vibration by measuring a physical quantity such as the voltage of light of one wavelength of two-wavelength light and removing a measurement error due to the vibration of an optical fiber with the other wavelength light beam. CONSTITUTION:Light with wavelength lambdaa contains an AC component by the electrooptic element of a detection part 103 and an AC component by microbend effect due to the vibrations of 1st and 2nd optical fibers 102a and 102b. Light with wavelength lambdab contains only the AC component due to the vibration of the 1st and 2nd optical fibers 102a and 102b. The AC component by the microbend effect is modulated with a voltage applied to the electrooptic element of the detection part 103 by finding the difference between the light with the wavelength lambdaa and light with the wavelength lambdab because they have the same variation rate. An arithmetic processing part 105 computes and outputs a measurement result. Consequently, the accurate measuring operation is carried out even in a place where there is much vibration.
