Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the torsion stress of a shaft highly precisely by giving a mark to the rotary shaft, detecting the reflected light of a light beam and thus detecting the displacement of the rotary shaft directly. CONSTITUTION:Two marks 3 having a fixed length in the axial direction of the rotary shaft 2 of a turbine generator 1, approximating a point and reflecting a light are given on to the surface of the rotary shaft at a prescribed interval in the axial direction of the shaft. Moreover, a mark detector 5 detecting optically the time difference in detection of the reflected light from each mark 3 caused by application of a light to each mark 3 through the intermediary of a optical fiber 4, i.e. the time difference in passage of the respective marks 3 through the corresponding detecting points of the optical fibers 4 is provided on the fixed side. Based on the time difference detected by the mark detector 5, the torsion stress of the shaft is measured by a shaft torsion stress measuring part 6.
