Abstract

PURPOSE:To quantitatively detect the light interference of a specimen which cannot be visually identified by detecting a change in the light interference on the surface of a solid device arising from the reaction to detect a biocomponent as an amt. of the change in the color and color difference thereof. CONSTITUTION:A light interference layer II is provided on a light reflective base plate I and a biocomponent detecting layer III is formed thereon by immobilizing antibody or antibody molecules thereto. This device for detection is brought into contact with a liquid to be inspected to form the composite layer III' of the biocomponent to be detected and the biocomponent detecting material in at least a part of the region on the biocomponent detecting layer III; further, a light transmittable light reflecting layer IV is provided on the surface thereof. The change in the light interference on the surface of this device is detected as the amt. of the change in the color and color difference by using a color and color difference meter. The change in the light interference of the specimen which cannot be visually identified is thereby identified.
