Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the time required for separating the descending liquid from the ascending gas by coupling the bottom of a storage unit with a refrigerant pump, sucking liquid refrigerant in the storage unit and increasing the pressure temporarily, and then spraying the liquid refrigerant forcibly downward into a rectification separator through a nozzle. CONSTITUTION: When a main circuit is operated with a composition rich in high boiling point refrigerant as compared with the composition of an encapsulated mixture refrigerant, an on/off valve 22 is closed and a refrigerant pump 20 is started to return the liquid refrigerant in a storage unit 19 back to a refrigerant rectification column 15 through a nozzle 21. The liquid refrigerant drops downward through a rectification separator in the form of fine mist. On the other hand, the liquid refrigerant flows out from a condenser 12 and enters into a second restrictor 16 and pressure reduced gas produced therefrom flows into the refrigerant rectification column 15 and ascends the inside thereof from the bottom. Gas-liquid contact takes place with dripping liquid and low boiling point refrigerant is stored in the storage unit. Since the dripping liquid refrigerant is in the form of very fine mist, gas-liquid contact is improved and separation can be ended in a short time.
