Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve sorting accuracy and sorting performance by providing rear side plates of unpolished rice receiving troughs in sorting cylinders with plural pieces of grain sensing sensors, counting the number of the grains colliding against these sensors and controlling the sorting in accordance with the count results. CONSTITUTION: The sorting cylinders 35, 36 of a horizontally facing rotary type formed with hulling mechanisms and many pieces of recesses 21 on the inner peripheral surfaces are provided with the rotary type sorting mechanisms provided with the unpolished rice receiving troughs 22. The rear side plates 22b existing on the side opposite to the scraping up side of the hulled rice within the sorting cylinders out of both right and left side plates 22a, 22b of the unpolished rice receiving troughs are provided with plural pieces of the grain sensing sensors SE1 to SE5 for sensing the grains flying thereto in a vertical direction. The numbers of the respective grains colliding against the sensors are counted. The output of the sensor at the point where the number of the counted grains first attains the specified value or above is held until the count result of the next time is emitted. The sorting is then controlled. Consequently, the sorting accuracy and the sorting performance are improved over the entire part of the device.
