Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device and lengthen a service life by applying high- voltage pulses for generating X-rays between a creeping discharge electrode and anode for generating X-rays and by controlling generation of X-rays by generation of electrons by pulse creeping discharge. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor 14 is charged from a high-voltage power supply and high voltage pulses are applied to a pair of creeping discharge electrode 8 and 8' through a resistor element 12 by a switching element 13 to generate creeping discharge on a dielectric body 7. Also, a high voltage for generating X-rays is constantly applied to a creeping discharge electrode 8 and an anode 16 for generating X-rays. Thus, when creeping discharge occurs, X-rays are simultaneously generated by the anode for generating X-rays 16 and X-rays are irradiated from the X-rays transmission film metal electrode 1 to uniformly perform electrolytic dissociation of main discharge area. On the other hand, a capacitor 3 is charged by high-voltage power supply and a switching element 2 operates through a delay circuit 15 simultaneously with generation of X-rays. Then, a high-voltage pulse is applied between the main electrodes 1 and 41 through a resistor element 4 for uniformly performing main discharge.
