Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device by separating a carriage for an optical head and a carriage for a magnetic head, and providing each carriage with an independent guide part, and at the same time, moving both the carriages as synchronizing with each other by one drive source indirectly. CONSTITUTION:The optical head carriage 2 to carry the optical head 1 for irradiating a laser beam to a magneto-optical disk, and the magnetic head carriage 5 to carry a magnetic head 4 for impressing a magnetic field to the disk are provided. Then, the guide part to guide the optical head carriage 2 in the direction of the radius of the disk and the guide part to guide the magnetic head carriage 5 in the same direction as the optical head carriage 2 are arranged independently of each other so that both the carriages can be moved by one driving means as synchronizing with each other at the time of a recording/reproducing operation and a retrieving operation. Accordingly, a positional relation between the optical head 1 and the magnetic head 4 is kept constant, and the optical head carriage 2 and the magnetic head carriage 5 moves as if they were united in one body. Thus, the device can be miniaturized.
