Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve resistance to fire by separating water-cooled steel pipe columns along the height of a building to form unit cooling blocks, covering upper story parts of the blocks with fire-resistive coatings to form cooling water tanks, and providing a cooling water supply pipe and a steam discharge pipe for the tanks. CONSTITUTION: Water-cooling steel pipe columns 2a-2d are separated along the height of a building to form unit cooling blocks A-D, and only upper story parts of the blocks A-D are covered with fire-resistive coatings 3a-3d to form cooling water tanks. The cooling water tanks 8 are provided with a cooling water supply pipe 8 and a steam discharge pipe 7 connected to the outside of the building. By this, as the water-cooling steel pipe columns 2a-2d housing cooling water 5 are used as frame column material and its part is used as the cooling water tanks, the temperature of the water-cooling steel pipe columns 2a-2d is not raised higher than prescribed temperature by the occurrence of fire 10. In addition, as there is no need for differently installed cooling water tanks, efficiency in using space is heightened, and resistance to earthquakes is superior.
