Normally, in-vehicle audio equipment typically has a speaker system mounted on the rear parcel shelf. In order to increase the reproduction level of the sound range, for example, as in the idea disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 57-168381 (drawings omitted), an exciter is attached to a Purcellshulf board and used as a diaphragm.
There is a configuration that can be used in conjunction with a wide area speaker installed at the same time to enhance the low frequency range, which tends to be lacking.

In the above-mentioned conventional technology, it is very time-consuming to attach a vibrator to a completed part of a vehicle such as a parcel shelf, and furthermore, since a part not designed as a diaphragm is used as a diaphragm, it is difficult to install a vibrator on a completed part of a vehicle such as a parcel shelf. The disadvantage is that the reproduced sound is not very good due to resonance.

The present invention is a speaker system which eliminates the drawbacks of the above-mentioned prior art and is designed to actively reproduce sound by considering the structure of the cabinet wall of the speaker system as a diaphragm.

In the speaker system according to the present invention, at least one plate of the plates constituting the other surfaces of the cabinet other than the front plate on which the speaker unit is attached is attached to the edge of the cabinet using an elastic support member so as to be able to vibrate freely. It has a configuration in which a vibrator is attached to each of the plate materials.

In the speaker system with the above configuration, the plate material constituting the cabinet is driven by an exciter, vibrates in a desired frequency band, amplitude and phase, and radiates acoustic energy, significantly increasing the effective area of the diaphragm. Acts as.

In FIGS. 1 to 3, 1 is a cabinet, which includes a front plate 11 to which a speaker unit 2 is attached, a ridge member 14 fixed to the front plate 11 and forming the outline of the speaker system, and a ridge member 14 that is fixed to the front plate 11 and forms the outline of the speaker system.
A plate member 1 is attached via an elastic support member 13 to enable free vibration, and forms the outer surface of the speaker system.

One or more speaker units 2, . . . for reproducing main band sound are attached to the front panel 11,
A vibrator 3 is attached to a plate member 12 that is attached to a ridge member 14 so as to be able to vibrate freely. It should be noted that the plate material driven by the vibrator 3 in this manner does not have to cover the entire surface of the cabinet except for the front plate 11. Cabinet surfaces that do not need to be supported in a vibratory manner, such as the top and bottom surfaces, are tightly and airtightly fixed to the ridge member 14.

2 and 3 show examples of the elastic support member 13 for vibratingly supporting the plate material 12.
The figure shows a plate material 12 supported by a damper 21 formed by press-forming a metal plate or the like into a corrugation shape.
In FIG. 3, grooves 32 and 32' are provided on the opposing surfaces of the plate material 12 and the ridge material 14, respectively, and the rubber strip 31 is inserted into the grooves 32 and 32' to form the plate material 12.

In the above example, since the vibrator is built into the speaker system, the installation method is much simpler than in the conventional example, but the vibration area is substantially increased several times or more. Therefore, although it is a small speaker system, it is extremely advantageous in reproducing bass frequencies. Moreover, since each plate material makes a complete piston movement, the reproduced sound is faithful to the input electric signal, and has the characteristic that it does not impair the reproduced sound like natural plate vibrations.
