The plate material that makes up the speaker system cabinet vibrates under the influence of internal standing wave sound pressure and the reaction force of the speaker unit, and radiates sound separately from the speaker unit. Generally, the sound caused by this plate vibration is transmitted to the speaker unit. The reverberant sound reaches -20 to 30 dB compared to the reproduced sound of the speaker unit, and the reverberant sound lasts for a longer time than the reproduced sound of the speaker unit. Moreover, the sustained reverberant sound is unique due to the vibration mode determined by the dimensions and material of the cabinet board material. Because of its frequency characteristics, it is superimposed on the sound reproduced by the speaker unit, causing a deterioration in the sound quality of the speaker system. For this reason, conventionally the plate material is reinforced to suppress cabinet plate vibration, but this merely changes the vibration mode of the plate material, suppressing the plate vibration and reducing the effect of the plate vibration on the reproduced sound. It could not be completely removed.

Although the vibrator 5 is attached to the full plate 1a in the figure, since the purpose is to generate plate vibration, the same effect can be obtained whether the vibrator 5 is attached to the side plate 1b or the back plate 1c. Further, the number of attachments may generally be plural.

The structure of the vibrator is not particularly limited, but as shown in FIG. A simple and practical method is to fix the plate and cause the plate to vibrate due to the reaction with the magnetic circuit.

The characteristics of the frequency correction amplifier 6 connected to the vibrator and its effects will be explained for an embodiment using FIG. 3.The plate vibration of the embodiment cabinet is 3.
It had the frequency characteristics shown in No. 1, and high-level vibrations around 250 to 500 Hz and around 2.5 KHz gave the reproduced sound a unique characteristic and harmed the sound quality.

If the signal corrected by the output characteristic 33 of the frequency correction amplifier 6 is applied to the exciter 5 to excite the cabinet, the plate vibration will become as shown in 32, and the energy distribution will be uniform, making the reproduced sound unique. The negative effects that create a habit of sound are removed, and on the contrary, it has the effect of adding richness to the reproduced sound.

In another embodiment (not shown), if the signal applied to the vibrator is only a low frequency component, the cabinet radiation in the low frequency range is increased, which has the effect of increasing the bass sound in a small system.

For further simplification, the frequency correction amplifier may be omitted, or even if an attenuator is simply connected, this will have a considerable effect in increasing the richness of the reproduced sound.
