Abstract

PURPOSE:To make dynamic reflectance owing to the drive of actuators to be uniform, and to obtain a pulse train with a high peak, by disposing a controlling member in parallel with the reflecting surface of a total reflection member and by controlling the parallelism therebetween using a plurality of the actuators. CONSTITUTION:A Q switch comprises a total reflection member 1 with a reflecting surface 2, a controlling member 3 of which the upper surface is disposed in parallel with the reflecting surface 2, a frame 8 which is fixed to the total reflection member 1, and three actuators 4-6 which are installed between the controlling member 3 and the frame 7. In operation, the controlling member 3 is so disposed that the upper surface thereof is approximately in parallel with the reflecting surface 2 of the total reflection member 1. Next, the respective sizes of the actuators 4-6 are independently regulated each other so that the parallelism is controlled with accuracy. Accordingly, the adjustment of the switch is easily performed, and giant pulses are easily generated.
