Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the penetration of water in an electrolyte, to decrease a change in electrolyte concentration, and to maintain the performance of a battery by bonding a multiple layer body of a polymer film and a metal foil on the surface of a synthetic resin container with a hot melt adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A 20-50mu thick polyethylene, polypropylene, or vinylidene chloride resin film and a 20-50mu thick aluminium, nickel plated steel, or stainless steel foil are bonded on the outer surface of a synthetic resin container with an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer adhesive. The penetration of water in an electrolyte is thereby prevented. This decreases a change in electrolyte concentration, maintains the performance of a sealed alkaline storage battery, and increases the reliability of the battery.
