Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance fillingness of powder and increase the current density of a superconductor by filling a number of grooves formed in a metal base plate with powder of oxide superconductive substance or a material powder, winding this metal base plate on a metal core, and by applying heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:A base plate 2 with grooves 1 is provided in the longitudinal direction. The grooves 1 are filled with powder 3 of superconductive material uniformly. Then the base plate 2a filled with powder 3 in the grooves is bent and wound on a rod-shaped core 4 with circular profile. The core 4 is made of the same metal material as the base plate 2, such as Cu, Ag, etc. Then this undergoes heat treatment. By this procedure a superconductive multi-core wire 6 is formed in the structure that a plurality of superconductive conductors 5 are formed along the core 4. This can enhance the fillingness of the powder 3, and the current density of superconductive conductor can be enhanced. The superconductive multi-core wire has no voids in the inside to lead to enhancement of the cooling efficiency.
