Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a water-leak preventive optical fiber containing pipe with superior performance at low cost, by sticking a high polymer water absorber on the surface of an optical fiber previously and inserting the optical fiber into the pipe while the high polymer absorber is stuck. CONSTITUTION:The pipe 1 is coiled to form a coil 5 before the optical fiber 7 is inserted into the pipe 1 and the high polymer water absorber is tuck on the surface of the optical fiber 7. Then the coil 5 of the pipe 1 is vibrated reciprocally along the spiral path from an optical point of the pipe 1, so the optical fiber 7 in the pipe 1 receives slantingly upward force from the internal wall surface of the pipe 1 and bounces slantingly upward in the pipe 1 or slides on the internal wall surface of the pipe 1. Thus, the optical fiber 7 in the pipe 1 advances in the pipe 1 by being applied intermittently with conveyance force in the peripheral direction of the coil from the internal wall of the pipe 1 to draw the optical fiber 7 outside the pipe into the pipe 1. Consequently, the water-leak preventive optical fiber containing pipe is manufactured at low cost without affecting nor damaging the optical fiber.
