Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve bending quality and working environment by inserting a plate coil spring into a bending position on a straight pipe and performing bonding. CONSTITUTION:The plate coil spring 12 is inserted into the bending site on the straight pipe 11. The spring plate width (w) is made larger than the plate thickness (t) and the following conditions are desired to be set: d1MIN<=d2MAX (d1; inner diameter of blank pipe, d2; outer diameter of spring) and P1=t (P1; spring pitch at the time of largest compression). When the pipe 11 is bent under these conditions, in an inner circumferential position giving the maximum bending, each coil of the spring 12 is bonded to each other and creases are prevented from occurring. The flattening of the bent pipe 11 is prevented by strengthening of rigidity of the spring strip. The bending quality of the pipe 11 is improved, accordingly, and, in addition, since the operation to fill the sand in the pipe is eliminated, dust is prevented from being scattered and the working environment is improved.
