PURPOSE:To simplify and facilitate control of change of a speed, by a method wherein a change of a speed is controlled from the neutral position of a speed change lever to each speed change position through a one-way stroke. CONSTITUTION:An interlocking body 16 of an interlocking mechanism 5, having projected parts 14 and 14 on both sides engaged with a spherical actuator part 11 of a speed change lever and a right actuate surface part, is longitudinally unmovably and rotatably provided. When a speed change lever 4 is rotated and controlled forwardly or backwardly from a speed change neutral position state in which a ball 23 of a shifter 2 is engaged with a shifter groove 21, a speed change gear 19 is slid backward or forward. When the shifter is rotated and controlled leftward or rightward, the interlocking body 16 is rotated rightward or leftward through the projected parts 14 and 14, and a speed change gear 20 is slid to a rear or a front speed change position. This constitution enables control of change of a speed through the one-way stroke of the lever, and simplifies and facilitates control.
