Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain rotation of an engine when an auxiliary device is locked, by a method wherein a pulley for an auxiliary device and a free pulley are rotatably mounted to a housing, a claw engaging with the pulley is disengageably mounted to the outer periphery of the housing. CONSTITUTION:An engaging step parts 2a, with which the tip of an engaging claw 9 is pressed through the force of a spring 8, is formed on the outer surface of a housing 2. A tapered spacer 11 situated to a free pulley 3 is formed such that the tip part thereof enters beneath the engaging claw 9 and releases engagement with the engaging step part 2a when a rotation difference is produced between the pulley 3 and a pulley 5. Thus, when an auxiliary device driven by means of a shaft 1 is stopped, the pulley 5 is also stopped and since a rotation difference is produced between the free pulley 3 and the pulley, the spacer 11 is actuated to cut off transmission of a power between the pulley 5 and the housing 2.
