Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in moldability and flow, by melt-kneading a mixture of a specified linear PE of a medium to low density with an organic peroxide. CONSTITUTION:A linear PE (A) of a density of 0.870-0.945g/cm<2> preferably, 0.800-0.940g/cm<3> and a melt index (MI1)>=15g/10min, preferably, >=30g/10min is mixed an organic peroxide (B) [e.g., 1,3-bis(t-butylperoxyisopropyl)benzene] of a 1hr half-life temperature of 120-160 deg.C in an amount to give 1.3X10<-3>-6.0X10<-3>mol. per 100g of component A, and the resulting mixture is melt-kneaded at a temperature of from the m.p. of component A to its decomposition temperature, preferably, 170-280 deg.C for 30-150sec to obtain the title composition of a melt index (MI2) of 0.05-20g/min and an MI1/MI2 ratio of 0.005-0.2.
