Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a brick which can maintain its quality for a long period and has a permeability to gas or the like, by mixing a granular active agent with a granular or flaked thermoplastic resin, and heating the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic resin must have a softening point higher than the use temperature of an active agent to be bonded, and is also required to have a melting point lower than the temperature which would damage the property of the agent. The granules, flakes or fibers of the thermoplastic resin are mixed with a granular active agent, and the mixtue is heated to a temperature higher than the softening point but lower than the melting point of the thermoplastic resin, to bond the active agent to the thermoplastic resin. The thermoplastic resin preferably has a low wettability. For instance, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polybutene, etc. may be used as the said thermoplastic resin.
