Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve various characteristics of a porcelain compsn. based on Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3, PbTiO3 and PbZrO3 and to reduce the sintering temp. by substituting Sr for part Pb in the compsn. and adding specified amts. of CuO and Bi2O3 to the compsn. CONSTITUTION:Sr atoms are substd. for part of Pb atoms in a porcelain compsn. based on Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3, PbTiO3 and PbZrO3, and 0.05-1.5mol.% CuO and 1.0-3.0mol.% Bi2O3 are added to the compsn. By the synergistic effect of CuO and Bi2O3, the dielectric constant of the compsn. and the coupling coefft. in the diametral direction are considerably increased, strain produced by impressing voltage is considerably relieved and the sintering temp. can be made lower than that of the conventional compsn.
