Abstract

A ceramic dielectric composition comprises a major amount of barium titanate and a minor amount of either tantalum or niobium compounds, preferably the oxide. Specified proportions are 0.5 to 6 per cent. In addition other alkaline earth titanates, zirconates or stannates which form solid solutions with the barium titanate may be present. A mixture of the constituents is subjected to two successive prefirings before being fired at 1300 DEG -1400 DEG C.
