Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce spherical calcium carbonate in an almost perfect sphere, having excellent stability in water, by reacting water soluble calcium salt with water soluble carbonate salt in a specified proportion, in water dissolved specified sulfonated polymer in a specified concn. CONSTITUTION:The water soluble calcium salt is reacted with the water soluble carbonate salt in the water dissolved at least one kind of water soluble sulfonated polymer among copolymers or salts thereof polymerized polystyrene sulfonic acid or styrene sulfonic acid with one or more kinds of monomers of formula (where, R1-R4 are H, CH3 or COOH but one or two of them is COOH). At the time, the concn. of the water soluble sulfonated polymer is regulated in the range of 500-200,000ppm. Besides, the amt. of the water soluble carbonate salt is regulated to 2mol. at most to 1mol. water soluble calcium salt. Thereby, the stable spherical calcium carbonate in an almost perfect sphere, having uniform particle size and substantially consisting of baddeleyite type crystal is obtd.
