Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the longitudinal length of an overvoltage suppressor by so electrically connecting lamination units that currents flowing to the nearest lamination units to a high voltage terminal and the nearest lamination units to a low voltage terminal are all directed from the high voltage terminal to the low voltage terminal along a longitudinal axis. CONSTITUTION:Lamination units 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 2c made of sintered resistors which contains as a main ingredient zinc oxide are so electrically connected that currents flowing to the nearest units 1a, 1a to a high voltage terminal 3 and the nearest units 1c, 2c to a low voltage terminal 4 of the units 1a-1c, 2a-2c in one block are all directed from the terminal 3 to the terminal 4.
