Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the destruction of an element even if local transition to normal conductivity occurs, by constituting symmetrically many elements of zigzag structure in parallel, and making them contact at each apex. CONSTITUTION:Material exhibiting superconductivity like Y-Ba-Cu-O is arranged in a groove 6 dug in the form of a zigzag on a substrate 5 to constitute a first element 2. A second element 3 which is symmetric with respect to the first element is arranged in parallel in such a manner as to be in contact with the first element 2 at the apexes 1 of zigzag elements 2, 3. By constituting the elements in the two-parallel manner as mentioned above, even if one side transits locally to the normal conductivity, the total current flows through the other branch of the parallel elements. Even if the total current flows, transition to the normal conductivity does not occur. Further, when the branch which locally transited returns to the superconductivity, the current branches and flows. Thereby, preventing the destruction of the element caused by local transition.
