Abstract
PURPOSE:To extend the cycle life by forming a conductive high polymer membrane which consists of polypyrrole, polythiophene, polyaniline, or the like between a positive electrode composite and a positive electrode case. CONSTITUTION:A conductive high polymer membrane 1 is formed between a positive electrode case 2 and a positive electrode composite 3 of a cell which is composed of a nonaqueous electrolyte including alkaline metal ions, and a positive and a negative electrodes which can output and input the alkaline metal ions. As a result, the conductive high polymer membrane maintains the conductivity within the scope that the positive electrode active substance has the reversibility of charge and discharge in the discharge process of the cell, and the conductive high polymer membrane acts as an insulator below the potential, while the cell voltage is lowered to zero V as the positive electrode maintains the reversibility of charge and discharge. In such a way, the cycle life can be extended.
