Abstract

PURPOSE:To aim at stabilizing the rotational speed of an engine and at enhancing the durability of a clutch by engaging or disengaging the clutch when the operation of a vehicle falls in such a condition that the engagement or disengagement of the clutch should be made through slip engagement. CONSTITUTION:A control device disposed between an engine 1 installed on a vehicle and a compressor 3 incorporates a clutch means 3 for transmitting the power of the engine 1 to the compressor 2 and for isolating the same from the latter. Further, there is provided a control means 4 for controlling the clutch means 3 so that the latter is engaged and disengaged. In such an arrangement, there is provided a judging means 5 for delivering a judging signal when it is judged that the operation of the vehicle falls into a condition in which the engagement or disengagement of the clutch should be made through slip engagement control. Accordingly, the clutch means 3 is controlled in accordance with the judging signal by the control means 4 so that the clutch is controlled so as to be engaged or disengaged through a slip engagement condition.
