Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the front and rear wheels to be steered in the reverse direction at the time of high speed running, when a vehicle speed sensitive type pump fails, by opening an emergency valve so as to communicate both cylinder chambers in a cylinder for rear wheels. CONSTITUTION:In an emergency valve VB, ports 35, 36 are formed in the valve body 34, and respective ports 35, 36 are communicated with passages 32, 33 respectively. The pilot chamber 38 on one side of the emergency valve VB is connected to the upstream side of an orifice 17, and the pilot chamber 39 on the other side is connected to the downstream side of the orifice 17. When a pump P2 for rear wheels fails, the discharge quantity becomes zero, then the pressure difference between the front and the rear of the orifice 17 vanishes, and accordingly the pressures in both the pilot chambers 38, 39 of the emergency valve VB becomes equal. Thus, a spool 37 moves to communicate both ports 35, 36 with each other, so that both cylinder chambers in the cylinder for rear wheels are communicated.
